Men with Menstruation (Haiz)

-------------------------------------------

Munir Niazi says: I was sitting with my father. Suddenly, he asked me, "What do you know about menstruation (Haiz)?"

In my heart, I recited 'Alhamdulillah' and thanked Almighty Allah a million times, thinking that now we too could count ourselves among those open-minded people who can talk openly about any topic at home. Along with this, I remembered all the past years that I had spent in the suffocating atmosphere of this house under my father's awe and terror.

Smiling, I said, "Father, Haiz is the name of a cycle that every young woman goes through once a month..."

Father asked again, "Then what does a woman do in this state?"

I said, "Father... in this state, a woman neither prays (Namaz) nor fasts (Roza)..."

This time, father spoke in a somewhat harsh and rough tone: "Son! That means there is no difference between you and that menstruating woman...!!"

Please! Be regular with your prayers (Namaz).
