The historic protest site of the national capital New Delhi, Jantar Mantar, stands today once again on the brink of intense political hustle-bustle, ideological confrontation, and potential violence. The newly formed organization "Cockroach Janata Party" (CJP), raising its voice against alleged irregularities in the recent examination system in the country, the alleged incompetence of the National Testing Agency (NTA), the NEET-UG paper leak, and irregularities in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) mark sheets, has announced a massive protest sit-in (dharna) at Jantar Mantar today.
But a sensational and alarming twist came in this story when the hardline organization "Hindu Raksha Dal" and Preet Sirohi, a well-known Hindu activist who campaigns against illegal religious structures in the country, announced open opposition to this protest. Following provocative speeches and social media messages by leaders of both factions, Delhi Police and central security agencies are in a state of high anxiety. Security forces have turned the entire area into a cantonment because Hindu Raksha Dal has appealed to its supporters to reach Jantar Mantar armed with ordinary sticks and batons to "treat" the protesters of the Cockroach Janata Party.

In the last few months, the massive paper leaks and corruption scandals that have emerged in India's education system, especially in national-level competitive exams, have put the future of millions of students and youth in the country at stake. To give a structured political and social shape to the grief and anger of this student community and youth, the "Cockroach Janata Party" (CJP) was established.
The organizers of the party say they chose the name "Cockroach" because the cockroach is a creature in the world that has the ability to survive in any type of harshest environment, nuclear explosions, and worst conditions, and today's Indian middle-class student is also fighting a battle for survival despite being crushed like a cockroach inside this corrupt system.
Resignation of the Central Education Minister is the Primary Demand
The primary and most important objective of the Cockroach Janata Party's protest is the immediate resignation of Central Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The founder of the party, Abhijit Dipke, who arrived in Delhi overnight from America specifically to lead this protest, maintains that the education system has now become completely paralyzed.
Abhijit Dipke, while talking to the media at the Delhi Airport, said:
"Whenever a major exam paper leaks in the country or the future of millions of students is ruined, the Modi government, instead of taking strict or exemplary action against the paper mafia, merely transfers a few officers. This is just 'tokenism' (eyewash). We no longer accept this administrative drama. Until the Education Minister resigns from his post, the youth will not move from the streets."
Support from International and National Social Activists
The importance of this protest increased further when Ladakh's renowned environmental and social activist Sonam Wangchuk also announced his moral support to this movement and traveled specifically from Ladakh to Delhi. Sonam Wangchuk's participation in this protest is proof that this matter is no longer limited to students only, but big faces of civil society are also hitting the streets against this flaw in the system.
2. Live Situation at Jantar Mantar: Arrival of Crowds and Strict Security Vigil
Since this morning, youth, students, and supporters of the Cockroach Janata Party began arriving at Jantar Mantar. Students from different parts of the country, especially from Delhi University, JNU, and Jamia Millia Islamia, are moving towards the venue in large numbers. Protesters hold the Indian tricolor flag in their hands and are chanting slogans while waving pictures of Dr. Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar and copies of the Constitution of India.
Administration's U-Turn: Conditional Permission till 5 PM
Initially, Delhi Police had refused to grant formal permission for this protest in view of the delicate law and order situation and inputs from intelligence agencies. However, when Abhijit Dipke and his legal advisors threatened to surround the Sansad Marg Police Station and stage a dharna on the road right there, the administration had to bow down.
After long negotiations between top officials of Delhi Police and the organizers of the Cockroach Janata Party, the protesters were finally granted conditional permission to hold a peaceful sit-in in a specific part of Jantar Mantar today until 5:00 PM. Police have made it clear that if even a single protester remains on the street after 5 PM, a case will be registered against them for violation of Section 144 and interference in government work, and they will be taken into custody.
Heavy Deployment of Security Forces
To deal with any untoward incident, several companies of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and Rapid Action Force (RAF) have been deployed alongside the Delhi Police. Heavy iron and concrete barricades have been placed on all routes from Delhi Airport to Jantar Mantar, Connaught Place, and Parliament Street. Every passerby is being frisked, and suspicious individuals are being removed from the area immediately. The most surprising thing is that security forces have also imposed strict restrictions on the entry of media and journalists inside the venue, and media mics have been stopped behind a specific barricade, over which the protesters have expressed intense anger.

Pinky Chaudhary, directly addressing her thousands of supporters in her video message, said:
"We know very well which anti-national forces are working behind this 'Cockroach Janata Party'. This is not an educational movement, but an international agenda to destroy the peace of the country and defame the Modi government. When all other people are sitting silent, Hindu Raksha Dal will not remain silent. I appeal to all my brave lions to reach Jantar Mantar and Sansad Marg on June 6 with strong sticks and batons in their hands. The treatment of these secular insects is possible only with a stick. If they do any mischievous act there, our sticks will speak and we will not hesitate to thrash them."
Preet Sirohi Announces Entry into the Battlefield
Preet Sirohi, a Hindu activist who runs campaigns against shrines, dargahs, and mosques in the regions of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, has also jumped into this controversy. Preet Sirohi has also heated up the environment further by issuing a separate video statement.
Preet Sirohi said in his statement:
"These people of the Cockroach Janata Party who are taking funding from America and staging a drama here in the name of students should remember that this is the India of the year 2026. If anyone, under the guise of the tricolor during the protest at Jantar Mantar, speaks against the country or tries to defame our honorable ministers and institutions, we will not step back from taking the law into our own hands. I will myself be present at Jantar Mantar with sticks along with my supporters. If these people want to make videos of us, they are welcome to do so, we have no fear. We cannot let our home (country) be ruined because of these insects. We know very well how to crush these cockroaches."

These statements of Hindu Raksha Dal and Preet Sirohi have made the security situation in New Delhi extremely sensitive. The gathering of two groups holding completely opposite ideologies at the same place at the same time can take the form of a major bloody clash at any moment.

According to sources, the Intelligence Bureau (IB) has submitted a secret report to the Commissioner of Delhi Police, stating that if the activists of Hindu Raksha Dal succeed in moving towards Jantar Mantar with sticks, their direct clash with the youth protesters of the Cockroach Janata Party could happen. In this scenario, there is a severe risk of stone-pelting, lathi-charge, and stampede. Following this alert, police have placed additional barricading in all small and large streets leading to Sansad Marg and Connaught Place so that Hindu Raksha Dal activists are not allowed anywhere near the Jantar Mantar venue.

Owners of shops located very close to Jantar Mantar have half-lowered the shutters of their shops as a precaution, because they fear that if a fight breaks out between the two factions, their properties could be damaged. A local trader, on the condition of anonymity, said, "Every other day there is some protest in Delhi, but when there is talk of bringing sticks from both sides, we have to close shops to protect our lives and property and that of our customers."

Political analysts and experts believe that the issue of the NEET paper leak and educational corruption is undoubtedly an extremely serious and genuine issue over which the anger of the country's youth is completely justified. But the way this educational and students' issue is being given a formal political color with strange names like "Cockroach Janata Party" could affect the seriousness of this movement.
On the other hand, for right-wing extremist organizations to label every protest as anti-national or an international conspiracy and threaten sticks and violence is against the basic principles of democracy. If an organization has received conditional permission to protest, it is the responsibility of the law enforcement agencies to end that protest peacefully, rather than allowing any private organization or individual to take the law into their own hands with sticks on the street.
