Ruling on beautifully designed Burqa:
To keep society pure, to prevent mischief (Fitna and Fasad), and to protect the honor, modesty, and dignity of women, the Shari'ah has instructed women to step out of their homes while observing Purdah (veiling). It is due to Purdah that women's modesty remains intact, and they are saved from the poisonous gazes of the wicked. This objective can only be achieved when the following conditions are present in the veil/Burqa: (1) It should cover the entire body, and at the time of going out, it should also cover the face and hands. (2) It should be thick and loose enough so that the parts of the body that must be hidden or their shape are not apparent. (3) It should not have beautiful designs or be attractive in a way that draws men toward it, because the purpose of the Burqa is to divert men's attention, and this (attractiveness) makes it the center of attention.
