"Respected Maulana! Should I try to understand the Quran, or should I focus on completing its recitation as many times as possible?" Maulana replied gently, "Son, in Ramadan, just make the intention to thoroughly understand one Surah, and alongside that, also take part in completing the recitation of the Quran, so that you receive the reward for both: contemplation (Tadabbur) as well as complete recitation. In this way, Ramadan will not pass without a completion of the Quran, and you will not be deprived of the blessing of understanding the Quran either." "Make the intention to understand the remaining Surahs in the remaining months of the year. And if life does not give you time (you pass away), Allah will grant you the reward for contemplating the entire Quran according to your intention." Narrated / Transmitted.
