These are all branches of religion.

These are all branches of religion.

Once in a gathering of Islamic scholars (Ulema) in Leicester, UK, Hazrat Maulana Shah Abrar-ul-Haq Hardoi Sahib (Rahmatullah Alaih) said: "Suppose a heavy-bodied person passed away in a village in India. It is the scorching heat of June-July, the graveyard is several kilometers away, and there are only four people to carry the funeral bier (Janazah). On the way, they met a traveler. He put his luggage aside and joined those carrying the funeral bier on their shoulders. Hazrat Maulana Shah Abrar-ul-Haq Sahib (Rah.) asked the scholars, 'Will those four men feel happiness or pain upon the arrival of this traveler?'" All the scholars replied, "They will feel happy." Hazrat Maulana further said, "These five men moved a little forward when another traveler appeared. He also put his luggage to one side and joined those five men to give a shoulder to the funeral bier. Hazrat (Rah.) again asked the scholars, 'Tell me, will the five men feel happiness or pain before this sixth man joins?'" Everyone said, "Happiness." Then Hazrat (Rah.) said, "At this time, we all are also walking with the responsibility of Deen (religion) on our shoulders, serving Deen. When this is the case, we should be happy to see each other's work, because our purpose is the same. Teaching (Tadrees), authoring books (Tasneef), preaching (Tableeg), Jihad, politics (Siyasat), Tasawwuf (spirituality), lessons of the Quran, and lessons of Hadith—these are all branches of Deen. If we all were companions (Rafeeq) to one another, the map of the world would be something else; but Satan does not let us become companions, he always keeps alienating us from one another. One vital aspect of Seerah (the Prophet's lifestyle) is unity and harmony (Ittifaq), which is being ignored today."
