Ayat al-Quran

Translation : O believers! If your fathers and brothers prefer disbelief over belief, do not take them as your protectors. And whoever among you takes them as protectors, those are the wrongdoers. (23) (Asan Tarjuma-e-Quran) Meaning: This means that you should not maintain such relations with them that become a hindrance for you in fulfilling your religious obligations. As far as treating them with kindness while safeguarding your faith and religious duties is concerned, the Holy Quran has declared it commendable. (Asan Tarjuma-e-Quran)

The Witty Advice of Mullah Nasiruddin to Amir Timur

One day, Amir Timur Lang was holding court. The courtiers were standing in their respective places in a respectful manner. Referring to the Caliphs of Baghdad, Timur said, "Their titles used to be very magnificent. For example, Mustaqzir Billah, Wathiq Billah, Mu'tasim Billah, and Mutawakkil Billah, etc. I wish to adopt some title of this kind as well." The courtiers suggested various titles according to their own understanding... When it was Mullah Nasiruddin's turn, he sought amnesty for his life and submitted, "In the humble opinion of this insignificant person, Your Majesty's title 'Na'oodhu Billah' (We seek refuge in Allah) will be very appropriate."
