وَ اِنْ تَعُدُّوْا نِعْمَةَ اللّٰهِ لَا تُحْصُوْهَا اِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَغَفُوْرٌ رَّحِیْمٌ(۱۸)(سورۃ النحل)
Translation : And if you start counting the blessings of Allah, you cannot enumerate them. The reality is that Allah is Most Forgiving, Very Merciful. (18) (Asan Tarjuma-e-Quran)
Meaning: When the blessings of Allah Almighty are so many that they cannot be counted, then their right was that a human being should constantly offer gratitude to Allah Almighty every moment. But Allah Almighty knows that this is not within the capacity of a human being. Therefore, by dealing with His forgiveness and mercy, He continues to forgive this shortcoming in gratitude. However, this demand is certainly there that he should live his life according to His commands and remain obedient to Allah Almighty in every aspect, outwardly and inwardly. For this, he should keep this reality in view that Allah Almighty knows every action of his. Whether he does it secretly or openly. Therefore, this very reality has been described in the next verse.
