A wife should not go anywhere outside the house without her husband's permission; however, it is appropriate for the husband to provide the wife with an opportunity to meet her parents from time to time according to custom and convenience, whether by sending her to her parents' home or by inviting her parents to his home. Similarly, the husband should not create obstacles in occasional meetings with the wife's close relatives, so that good companionship is demonstrated and marital life is spent with mutual trust.
