Trouble has mounted for Mokama MLA Anant Singh, who was recently expelled from the Janata Dal-United (JDU). The Supreme Court has cancelled his bail in the Dularchand Yadav murder case and directed him to surrender before authorities on or before December 1, 2026.
What Did the Supreme Court Say?
A bench comprising Justice M.M. Sundresh and Justice P.V. Varale stated that the Patna High Court's decision to grant bail was erroneous.
According to the bench, the High Court failed to consider the gravity of the crime and Anant Singh's extensive criminal history.
Consequently, the High Court's order was stayed and his bail was revoked.
The court emphasized that this murder case cannot be treated merely as a political dispute.
Directions to Complete Investigation in 4 Months
The apex court has directed the police to complete the investigation within 4 months. The investigation is currently ongoing, and witnesses will be examined during the course of the trial.
What is the Dularchand Yadav Murder Case?
