Do Not Distance Children from Mosques
In today's era, with increasing social changes and the dominance of modern technology, it has become very easy for children to get engrossed in mobile phones, TV, and other sources of entertainment. Due to the internet and social media, they can participate in global activities right from their homes. However, it is also a reality that in such an environment, their connection with religion (Deen), the mosque, and their traditions is growing weaker. The mosque is a place where children not only receive basic religious education but also attain moral and spiritual grooming. Unfortunately, most parents and elders do not show interest in bringing children to the mosque, or even when they do come, they are scolded and sent back home for making noise, causing trouble, or playing. This attitude is extremely harmful because the mosque is the place where children get opportunities to learn the fundamental principles and rituals of Islam. Distancing children from mosques or allowing them to visit less frequently can cause our mosques to become deserted in the future. Those children who do not connect with prayers, the Quran, and worship in the mosque today, how will they keep the symbols of religion alive tomorrow? These very children will grow up to become the leaders of our nation, and if they are not taught love for religion and its etiquette, they will drift even further away socially. Therefore, we should encourage children to come to mosques and create a friendly and pleasant environment for them. Gently explain to them how to behave in the mosque, overlook their small mistakes, and encourage them by giving rewards from time to time. This way, they will happily come to the mosque and establish a strong connection with religion. Remember, today's children are the inheritors of our religion tomorrow. If we distance them from the mosque today, our mosques could truly become deserted tomorrow.
