Charity of the Heart: A Beautiful Lesson from a Poor Woman

Charity of the Heart: A Beautiful Lesson from a Poor Woman

A poor woman called out with great respect, "Come, Madam, please sit here," as she offered her seat to a school teacher and stood up in the bus herself. The Madam gave her blessings, saying, "Thank you very much, I was really in a bad state, honestly." A joyful smile spread across the poor woman's face. After a while, the seat next to the teacher became vacant, but this woman offered it to another woman who was traveling with a small child and was struggling to hold the baby. At the next stop, the woman with the child got off, and the seat became vacant again, but this kind-hearted woman still made no attempt to sit down; instead, she offered it to a weak and elderly man who had just boarded the bus. After some more time, the elderly man also got off, and the seat became vacant once again. Only a few passengers were left in the bus now. The teacher made the poor woman sit next to her and asked, "The seat became vacant so many times, yet you kept letting others sit and didn't sit yourself, what is the matter?" The woman replied, "Madam, I am a laborer. I don't have enough money to give in charity (Sadqah), so what I do is, I pick up stones lying on the road and move them to the side, sometimes I offer water to someone in need, and sometimes I leave my seat for someone in the bus. Then, when the other person gives me their blessings (Duas), I forget my poverty, and my entire day's exhaustion disappears. Not only that, when I sit outside on a bench to eat my bread (Roti), some birds come and sit near me. I break the bread into small pieces and throw them before them. When they chirp happily, seeing these creatures of God happy fills my stomach. Even if there is no money, I think I get blessings for free, it's a win-win, isn't it? And what else do we have to take with us from this world?" The teacher was left stunned. A poor, uneducated-looking woman had taught her such a profound lesson. If even half the people in the world adopt such a beautiful and positive mindset, this earth would become a paradise for everyone. Charity is not just done with money; it is done with the heart. _______________________________________ Quoted. Selection: Islamic Tube Pro App
