By: Muhaddith-e-Asr Allama Syed Muhammad Yousuf Banuri (May Allah have mercy on him) The matter is absolutely clear: no matter how the Companions (Sahaba) were, they will always be better than you. Even if you fly in the air, reach the sky, die and come back to life a hundred times, you can never become a Companion (Sahabi). After all, where will you bring that eye from which beheld the world-adorning beauty of Muhammad (ﷺ)? Where will you bring those ears from which were honored with the words of Prophethood? Yes, where will you bring that heart from which was brought to life by the messianic breaths of Muhammad (ﷺ)? Where will you bring that mind from which was illuminated by the holy lights? Where will you bring those hands from which once touched the blessed skin of Muhammad (ﷺ) and its amber-like fragrance never left them for the rest of their lives? Where will you bring those feet from which became blistered in the company of Muhammad (ﷺ)? Where will you bring that era from when the sky had descended to the earth? Where will you bring that place from where the leadership of both worlds was radiant? Where will you bring that gathering from where the pure wine of eternal bliss was filled and given in cups, and the thirsty ones of the "haven of love" were ecstatically chanting "Is there any more?" (Hal min mazeed)? Where will you bring that sight from which created the state of "as if I see Allah with my own eyes" (Ka'anni arallaha 'iyana)? Where will you bring that assembly from where the atmosphere of "as if birds were sitting on our heads" (Ka'annama 'ala ru'usina-ttair) was established? Where will you bring that presiding authority of the throne of Messengership towards whom indications were made with "this fair-skinned one leaning there" (Hadhal abyadul muttaki)? Where will you bring that amber fragrance from which made midnight sleep forbidden in the desire to see the Beloved? Where will you bring that faith from which was attained by forsaking the entire world? Where will you bring those deeds from which were performed by measuring them precisely with the scale of Prophethood? Where will you bring that character from which was adorned by keeping the mirror of Muhammad (ﷺ) in front? Where will you bring that color from which was given in the furnace of "the coloring of Allah" (Sibghatullah)? Where will you bring those styles/manners from which made the onlookers half-slain (deeply infatuated)? Where will you bring that prayer from whose Imam was the Leader of the Prophets? How can you become that congregation of holy souls whose leader was the Chief of the Messengers? Even if you criticize my Companions a million times, shake the fabric of your conscience and tell me! If after all these blessings, my Companions are bad, then are you not worse than them? If they deserve criticism and blame, do you not deserve curse and wrath? If you defame my Companions, will my God not disgrace you in front of everyone on the Day of Congregation (Mahshar)? If any shred of justice and modesty is left in you, look into your own collar (introspect) and shut your mouth regarding my Companions. And if your conscience has been completely distorted, then the whole world will decide whether these unworthy children should have the right to criticize my Companions! _____📝📝📝_____ Narrated / Transmitted.
