Ayat al-Quran

Translation : The Prophet is closer to the believers than their own selves, and his wives are their mothers. And blood-relations are closer to one another in the Book of Allah than the (other) believers and the emigrants, except that you do some good to your friends (by making a will). This has been written in the Book. (6) (Asan Tarjuma-e-Quran) Meaning: Here Allah Almighty has stated this reality that although the Holy Prophet ﷺ is dearer to all Muslims than their own lives, and all Muslims consider his pure wives as their mothers, yet due to this, the Holy Prophet ﷺ and his pure wives do not get priority over a Muslim's own relatives in the matter of inheritance. Therefore, when someone passes away, his inheritance is distributed among his close relatives; no share is given to the Holy Prophet ﷺ or his pure wives from it, even though from a religious perspective, he and his pure wives hold a greater right than other relatives. When the Holy Prophet ﷺ and his pure wives were not included in the inheritance despite their religious relationship, how can an adopted son be included in the inheritance merely by calling him a son with the tongue? However, if there is an intention to do good to them, a will can be made for them up to the limit of one-third of the estate. (Asan Tarjuma-e-Quran)
