Absolute Trust in the Mercy of Allah

Absolute Trust in the Mercy of Allah

Whenever Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Ashraf Ali Thanvi (may Allah have mercy on him) supplicated (made dua) and a tear fell from his eye, he would rub those tears onto his face. Once, a student noticed this. He asked, "Hazrat! On what basis is this action of yours?" He replied, "I hope that by the blessing of these tears, Allah Almighty will protect my face from the fire of Hell." Being a student after all, he remarked, "If someone's face is saved but the rest of the body parts are not, then what is the benefit...?" Upon this, Hazrat Aqdas (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated an anecdote: During the reign of King Aurangzeb Alamgir (may Allah have mercy on him), a minister passed away. The minister had a young son who was very intelligent. The King summoned the child for the sake of lighthearted amusement. When the child arrived, King Aurangzeb Alamgir (may Allah have mercy on him) was sitting by the edge of a pool that he had built in his palace. The child approached, offered greetings (Salam), and when he shook hands, the King firmly grabbed his fingers and said to the child, "What if I pull you and throw you into the water...?" The child smiled. King Aurangzeb was greatly surprised because the child should have been frightened, especially since everyone said the child was intelligent. Therefore, he asked, "Why are you laughing...?" The child replied, "Your Majesty! A few fingers of my hand are in your hands, so what fear do I have of drowning? How can it be that you would pull me and drown me in this water right before your own eyes?" After narrating this anecdote, Hazrat Aqdas Thanvi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "If this child has so much trust in the King holding his fingers, should we not have at least this much trust in the mercy of Allah? If He protects the face from the fire of Hell, He will also free the entire body from the fire of Hell. Every giver gives according to their capacity. The gifts of kings are according to the grandeur of kings. If we too maintain the best positive expectations (Husn-e-Zan) of Allah, the Lord of Honor, He will deal with us according to His majestic status." A father stands his young child a little distance away and says, "Son, come to me." The child tries very hard but fails in his attempt, yet relying on his father, the child continues his effort. Then the father's love surges, and the father himself goes and takes the child into his embrace. Similarly, let us also continue our efforts to attain the pleasure of our Lord. Even if our effort is weak, the Emperor who loves us seventy times more than mothers and fathers will surely grant us His love. Once we are blessed with the love of Allah Almighty, we will be successful and triumphant in this world and the Hereafter. ____________📝📝____________ Narrated.
