A young man from Pakistan went to America, and after going there he became lost in the life there. In his office there was a Christian girl, a relationship developed between them, and he decided that he had to marry this girl. She replied that she would consult her parents.
Her parents were staunch Christians. They did not like Muslims at all.
But they could not reject their daughter’s request either. Then they said that if this young man fulfills our conditions, then we will marry you to him, and they set such strange conditions that they were sure he would not be able to fulfill them.
The first condition they set was that if the marriage took place, this young man would leave his place and come near our house, take his own house, and live there.
The young man accepted this.
The second condition was that, to whatever extent he has a circle of friends (friends), he would completely abandon all of them. No contact by phone, nor meeting up otherwise. The people of our community, he would make them his friends, and keep his contact and association with them.
He accepted this too. This
The third condition they imposed was that he would also cut off his contact with his own parents forever. This young man accepted this condition too.
The fifth condition, the strangest of all: that we go to our church on Sundays, so he would also go to church with us on Sundays. He accepted this condition too.
He became so blind in love of this girl that he gave up everything. So where he used to live, it was found out that one day he disappeared from there. Neither the office people knew, nor the friends. For a month, two months, a great search was made for him, but there was no trace of where he had gone. And that country is also so big that if someone wants to disappear, he can disappear very easily. People kept remembering him for up to a year. Eventually, his talk began to fade from their memory too. About three years passed in this way.
One day the Imam Sahib came to the mosque for the Fajr prayer, and he saw that this young man came and began to perform wudu. He was very astonished. Did he emerge from the ground, or drop down from somewhere above? From where did this man come? Anyway! He was very wise. He led the prayer and took him with him inside to a room and said: Brother! We had a great bond with you, we remained far from each other for so long, come, have a cup of tea or coffee. Then he asked: What happened to you? So he narrated the whole incident:
He began to say that in love of that girl I gave up everything of mine, and the marriage took place.
I began to spend life with her; I had apparently no sign or trace of being a Muslim. Except for one sign: my books that I had were lying in one place, and among them was a Quran Majeed. When every morning I would get ready and start to go to the office, my glance would fall on the books, and seeing the Quran Majeed I would remember Allah, thoughts of Allah would come. I would say in my heart: O servant! You have gone after desires, you are a sinner, but look! The true word of the true Allah is present in your house. Just this much of a thought was in my life. Every day, coming and going, my glance would fall on it, and this thought would pass through my heart. Even such a weak connection saved this child’s faith
What happened?
He says that one day I came and saw that that book was not present there. He says I said to my wife that there was a book here, where is it? She said: I cleaned the house today, the book that neither I read nor you read, I put it in the trash can and threw it in the heap of garbage.
He says as soon as I heard, I got up at that very moment and went to the place where she had thrown the books. Going outside, I searched for the Quran Majeed, kissed it, touched it to my eyes, held it to my chest
She was watching me from the window, wondering what he was doing. When I came back home, she says: What are these crazy acts you are doing?
I said: This is my Allah’s Quran and it will always remain in my house.
She said: Okay, those germs are still present within you.
That girl picked up her briefcase and went to tell her parents about the situation, and I too put on my shoes and came to the mosque to appease my Lord.
His connection with the Quran Majeed was so weak, yet this connection of love also became a cause for the preservation of this servant’s faith.
