♦️♦️ *Lesson from a Funeral* ♦️♦️ As soon as a funeral was over, an elderly wise man (Baba Ji) came and stood near the grave and asked, "Son, tell me, if this person were to return to this world right now, what would he do...?" Upon hearing this question from Baba Ji, everyone was shocked for a moment, wondering what he was about to say.... Baba Ji smiled and said, "I am just a human being... Would anyone like to answer the question...?" One or two people spoke up together, "He would do good deeds, he would do righteous works..." Meanwhile, voices began to echo from behind, as usually happens when one person speaks, everyone starts giving their own opinion... One voice reached Baba Ji's ears, "He would start working for the Deen (religion)..." Suddenly another voice came, "He would hold fast to the Quran and Sunnah...." While this sequence was going on, Baba Ji said, "The summary of all these answers is just one: that he would distance himself from the disobedience of Allah and become obedient to Allah and His Messenger!..." "But son, the reality is that he will never return... However, we will definitely go there (into the grave)....." "He will never be able to do it now... But we are still outside (alive)... Therefore, we should do what he wishes to do now.... This distance is just a matter of two or three feet—he is below and we are above—but in reality, this is a massive distance...." Saying this, Baba Ji said Salaam and walked away, but a shiver ran through everyone standing behind. Such an atmosphere was created that everyone's tongue was busy seeking forgiveness (Istighfar) and eyes were filled with tears. If only we too could take heed from a funeral, and out of concern for the Hereafter, repent from our sins and start doing righteous deeds!
