The Union Home Minister today reviewed the preparations for Census 2027 in New Delhi and issued the official Gazette notification. For the first time, a caste-based count will also be conducted along with the census, which will be completed by March 2027.
Stages of the Census:
First Stage (HLO): House listing and information regarding housing conditions, property, and amenities will be collected.
Second Stage (PE): Demographic, socio-economic, cultural, and caste-related information of individuals in every household will be gathered.
Important Details:
The census will be completed by March 2027, with preliminary results being released at the same time, while the detailed report is expected by December 2027. The 2021 census was postponed due to Corona, and now the process will start from 2025. Appointing personnel, training, and planning for fieldwork will begin soon.
