The Minaret of Life Will Always Remain Straight!!

The Minaret of Life Will Always Remain Straight!!

It is narrated that seven hundred years ago, a mosque was being built in Isfahan. The work was almost complete, and the craftsmen were performing the final small touches. An elderly woman happened to pass by. She suddenly stopped and, pointing towards the minaret of the mosque, said that it looked crooked in her eyes. The craftsmen began to laugh, but the head mason said, "Silence! Quickly bring a long, strong piece of wood and gather a few laborers!" When some laborers brought the wood, the mason told them to place it against the minaret and push. Throughout this time, the mason kept asking the elderly woman whether the minaret was straight now or not. After a few minutes, the old woman said that the minaret had now become straight, and she left after offering a prayer. The laborers asked the mason, "Can a crooked minaret really be straightened with the help of a piece of wood?" The mason replied, "No, but by doing this, the path of a false rumor can certainly be blocked. If this old woman had left and mistakenly told a few people that the minaret was built crooked, and this rumor had spread, then in the eyes of the people, this minaret would have remained crooked forever. But with the help of a piece of wood and a few pushes, I have made this minaret straight forever." Beware of rumors. If you block their path in a timely manner, the minaret of your life will always remain straight. - Maulana Rumi
