The beautiful highway of moderation, the center of knowledge and gnosis, the source of goodness and blessings, the sanctuary of the people of truth, the spokesperson of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah, the mother of madrasas, the Azhar of India—Darul Uloom Deoband. Call it an institution, or call it a revolutionary movement launched during the British era; call it the antidote to the mischiefs breeding in the current era, or call it the guarantor of the survival of the original form of Islam in this age of modernism; call it the fortress for the protection of the Finality of Prophethood (Khatm-e-Nabuwat), or call it an iron wall erected for the defense of Islam. In short, this institution is a magnificent masterpiece of Divine power, a manifestation of Divine wisdom, a great favor upon the devout of the Islamic world—especially those of the subcontinent—a means for the revival of Islam, and an exposition of establishing the truth and annihilating falsehood. This blessed institution, established on the foundation of sincerity and piety, not only stood as a guarantor for the survival of Islam but also proved to be an unparalleled camp for human development (mardom-sazi), from which hundreds of scholars of Hadith (Muhadditheen) and Quranic commentators (Mufassireen), thousands of jurists (Fuqaha) and theologians (Mutakallimeen), and countless orators and preachers emerged. They not only raised the flags of success and victory in every field, every sector, and every corner of the world, but also performed such outstanding feats that the intellect of the world was left astonished, and the people of the world could not help but praise their upbringing and training. Yes, I am talking about the same Darul Uloom Deoband and its beneficiaries, the scholars of Deoband (Ulema-e-Deoband). As the poet says: "History compiles the chronicles of the passionate lovers here." And praise be to Allah, this blessed chain of nurturing great personalities continues to this day and, God willing, will continue until the Day of Resurrection. ✍🏻 #Mustaqeem_Jamali
