🕋 Turn Your Gaze Away from the Faults of Others 🕋 Hazrat Aqdas Sayyid Ahmad al-Rifa'i (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "Turn your gaze away even from the honor of others—leave alone the evil deeds—because as you sow, so shall you reap. If you have one eye, others have many eyes. Just as you are, so will be the leader/officer appointed over us. Restrain your tongue from speaking ill of the creation, because if you have one tongue, the creation has many tongues. Looking into your own faults is enough for you. Just as you speak about others, they will speak about you. Hold your self (Nafs) accountable for its deeds every single day. Seek forgiveness (Istighfar) from Allah abundantly. Become the doctor and guide of your own self, because unless you yourself worry about your self-rectification and seek the straight path, no spiritual guide (Murshid) or spiritual doctor can do anything. Do not be negligent in taking account of your self, and save yourself from indulging in carnal desires (Haz-e-Nafs)." (May Allah Almighty protect us all from carnal/baseless desires) Ameen.
