*The Blessing of a Halal Morsel* A Muslim country was attacked by disbelievers, so the king sent his son to fight. After a week, news arrived that they were defeated and the son had fled. Upon hearing this, the queen said, "Your Majesty! This news is wrong." The king got very angry and said, "How can you sit inside and say that the news is wrong?" She replied, "It's just that this news is wrong." After a week, news arrived that the first report was indeed wrong, and Allah Almighty had granted victory. The enemy fled, the disbelievers fled. Now the king asked his wife, "How did you make this claim while sitting inside?" This was the state of the kings' wives in those days. She said, "Since the time I conceived him, let alone a forbidden (Haram) morsel, I did not even eat a doubtful morsel; I did not eat any doubtful food. And I nursed him for two years; every single time I nursed him, I first performed ablution (Wudu), offered two units of optional prayer (Nafl), and then nursed him. How can a child who was raised on such pure milk ever run away out of the fear of death? If you had said that they were defeated and our son was martyred, I would have believed it. But how can I believe that a child raised on such pure milk would run away from a disbeliever out of the fear of death? This cannot happen." This was the state of the king's queens.
