Lizzie was called the world's ugliest woman, millions of memes were made on her, and it was even said to her that it is better to die than to live with such ugliness. But she did not lose courage, and after graduation, by writing three books, she shut the mouths of millions of beautiful people, and then she became one of the world's best motivational speakers and taught hopeless people how to live. Similarly, Al-Jahiz was a famous personality of the Islamic world. Al-Jahiz was a Mu'tazilite by belief and extremely ugly, but extremely intelligent; as ugly as he was, he was an equally great scholar. Regarding Al-Jahiz's ugliness, a poet says: "If a pig were to be mutated a second time, it would still be less ugly than Al-Jahiz." Someone asked Al-Jahiz, "Were you ever embarrassed?" He said, "Yes, once an old woman came to me and said, 'I have some work with you, come with me.' I went along. She took me to a goldsmith, made me stand in front of the goldsmith, and left. I asked the goldsmith, 'Any command for me?' He replied, 'This old woman was demanding that I make a statue of Satan for her. I said I have not seen Satan, so she said I will bring him, you make a statue like that. Then she brought you along and said: This is what Satan looks like!!!'" Despite all this, Al-Jahiz was a mountain of knowledge. Wherever eloquence (Balaqah) is mentioned in Islamic sciences, Al-Jahiz appears like a pillar, but he did not let his ugliness become an obstacle in acquiring knowledge and becoming a great human being. Two examples have been presented before you; one of Lizzie and the second of Al-Jahiz, that they were so ugly no one would sit near them nor let them sit near them, but they performed such wonders that people became desperate to meet them. What is lacking in you? Why are you suffering from an inferiority complex? Why are you hopeless? Have courage, have heart, and run the world according to your own will, and say like this: "The era itself is because of us, we are not because of the era."
